Alumni Art Show Preview

At Hardin-Simmons University, students can express themselves through art freely, and the alumni from HSU are no different. From October 2 to October 14, faculty and former students proudly present their artwork at the Ira M. Taylor Gallery, available for viewing from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Each artist on display has a unique voice and uses various mediums, from traditional paintings to physical vignettes. 

Artist and alumna Leandria Thurman ’21 comments on how art helps herself and other artists express themselves: “I enjoy making art because I enjoy being able to put my creative thoughts onto a piece of paper or screen. Art is full of constant challenges that push me, but I love it because it is what I love to do.” 

If you want to see Thurman’s and other alums’s art, visit the Ira M. Taylor Gallery until October 14, 2023. An artist reception will be held on Wednesday, October 11, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., including an artist talk and a Q&A session. During Homecoming weekend, on October 14, there will be a come-and-go reception from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
