Celebrating Administrative Professionals Day

Administrative Professionals are the heroes of every organization who are behind the scenes making sure everything falls correctly into place. They are especially important to the daily operations of Hardin-Simmons University. For Administration Professionals Day, celebrated on April 26, 2023, let’s meet two individuals who are administrative professionals.  

Chastity Jobe

Chasity Jobe ’16 is the administrative assistant for Dr. Stephen Cook, Dean, and the Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts. She began her position in 2018. 

“My favorite part is working with the dean and faculty members to help our students,” Jobe said. 

Jobe mentioned that Western Heritage Day is always a day she looks forward to on the Hardin-Simmons campus. “All the little kids are so excited, and they are eager to learn about all we have on campus. I love watching our students, faculty, and staff interact with them. Those kids leave HSU with big smiles on their faces.” 

Jobe said she worried a lot in her younger years and would give her younger self the following advice: “You will find your way, so don’t worry. Trust in God, and he will lead the way.” 

Donna Snook

Donna Snook ’12 works in the Irvin School of Education with Dr. Renee Collins, Associate Dean, and Dr. Robert Tucker, Dean. 

Snook said she likes helping and “being able to support students, faculty, and staff.” 

She began her journey as an administrative professional in 2008. 

“Working with the Education Department means that children’s learning is in the mix when doing special events like Western Heritage Day, camps, or tutoring,” she said. “I have been called on to keep small fish alive for lesson plans, sewing up clothing that split during an outdoor activity, or cheering the conclusion of multiple first lessons with pre-schools. Those are fun days in the office.”
