First Undercover Boss to Speak at Hardin-Simmons University Chapel

Hardin-Simmons University invites the Abilene community to a special edition of Chapel on January 30, 2025, featuring Larry O’Donnell, retired founder, Chairman of the Board, CEO, and President of Rockwater Energy Solutions, Inc., now Select Energy Services, and the first Undercover Boss. The event will take place at 9:30 a.m. in Logsdon Chapel (#39 on the map) on the HSU campus.

With a career spanning from the executive suite to the back of a garbage truck, O’Donnell brings a wealth of experience in leadership, business, and faith. Throughout his remarkable journey, he has built companies from the ground up, turned around struggling organizations, and led teams of over 50,000 employees.

O’Donnell’s career includes over a decade as President and COO of Waste Management, Inc., where he was instrumental in the company’s turnaround. While serving as the COO of Waste Management, Inc., Larry became the first participant in the hit television series Undercover Boss.

Since retiring from the business world, O’Donnell has dedicated his time to sharing what he has learned about leadership. He holds a master’s in biblical and theological studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and regularly speaks to organizations, businesses, and churches across the globe.

This special event is open to the public and offers a unique opportunity to hear O’Donnell’s perspective on leadership through the lens of faith, informed by his extensive professional and spiritual journey.
