Spring Graduation Spotlight: Kylie Mayfield

Kylie Mayfield, from Arlington, Texas, will graduate with a biology bachelor’s degree and environmental science minor with a wildlife certification. She arrived at Hardin-Simmons University in 2020 after touring the campus and realizing she felt at home. “The atmosphere was so welcoming and like no other campus I had been to,” she shared. 

During her time at HSU, Kylie remained an active member of the HSU DELTA club. “Joining DELTA was the best decision ever. I have met my lifelong sisters in this club,” she said. She served as the alumni chair and subsequently became the club’s vice president. 

Kylie loves the beauty of the campus, especially when the sun rises and sets. She enjoys going to Gilbert’s coffee shop to relax and to the third floor of the HSU library to study. 

Whenever free, she enjoys working at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, binge-watching her favorite shows, hanging out with her best friends, and listening to music. 

Kylie’s favorite Bible verse is, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”-Proverbs 3:5-6
