Summer Internship Spotlight: Ricardo Ramirez

July 13, 2023 Charis Ochu

Classes may be out for summer vacation, but that doesn’t mean Hardin-Simmons students aren’t hard at work, sharpening their skills in their respective job fields and courses of study. This summer, we’ll feature students who are interning, volunteering, or working around the world. If there is a student you think we should feature, reach out to marketing@hsutx.edu!

Name: Ricardo Ramirez

Hometown: San Antonio, Texas

MajorMinor: Worship Leadership

Summer Plans: Ricardo is busy this summer with two international mission trips, summer camp work, and working at his home church. In June, he traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to evangelize neighborhoods, pray for people, and host revival events, and then returned to Texas to work at a summer camp in Glen Rose. Throughout July, Ricardo will be in Costa Rica, partnering with local churches to evangelize and host revivals all over the country. In between each opportunity, Ricardo will work at his home church in San Antonio.

How has HSU played a role in getting you here: HSU has helped me grow not just in music but also in my spirituality. I have been blessed with a community solely focused on Christ, and it has been a welcome change of pace for me as I was not in a relationship with Christ when I first arrived at HSU.

Most impactful mentor at HSU: I am thankful to Tiffany Stotts, Dee Romines, and many others who have never given up on me throughout my time at HSU. They have given so much to help me grow and succeed.

What made you choose to take part in this work, and how will it prepare you for the future: I feel called to two things: worship and mission work. Spreading the love of Christ through my music is one of the most fulfilling things I have had the pleasure of doing. I would love to keep doing this for the rest of my life, so everything I am involved in this summer is preparing me for this path that God has set me on. God has been faithful and merciful to me in terms of the opportunities I have received through HSU and the people I have met. I am truly blessed to be a part of this institution.
