Logsdon School of Theology
Hardin-Simmons University has elevated the Logsdon School of Theology to its own distinct college, strengthening its commitment to ministry education while ensuring Logsdon remains a vital part of HSU. Since its founding in 1983, Logsdon has equipped students for Christian leadership, deepened connections with churches, and provided a strong foundation in biblical studies. Now, as it moves into its own college, Logsdon will continue preparing students for ministry, missions, and faith-based service with an even greater focus on its mission.
Logsdon offers a Christian Studies major, with courses in biblical studies, church history, ministry, and theology, as well as a Christian Studies minor for students pursuing ministry alongside other fields. Music majors concentrating in Worship Leadership will continue taking Logsdon ministry courses, and Bible courses will remain available to all undergraduate students at HSU.
This transition reflects HSU’s dedication to developing well-equipped Christian leaders through sustainable growth, reenergized partnerships, and a strengthened mission.

Christian Studies Degree
The Christian Studies major at Hardin-Simmons University is distinguished by our focus on scripture and connection both locally and globally. You’ll study key figures and theological constructs while you discover the relevance of the Bible for today’s world. You’ll also have opportunities to take what you’ve learned and apply it with practical, hands-on ministry through local internships and mentoring opportunities.
Music, Worship Leadership
Our Music, Worship Leadership degree prepares our students to enter the vast arena of worship ministry including training in worship technology, rehearsal techniques, production elements, service planning, team-building, varied denominational models, worship theology and philosophy, and church administration.
Scholarships
We are dedicated to offering an affordable ministry degree to all students called to service. All Christian Studies majors at Hardin-Simmons receive a scholarship. Students who are from Texas Baptist churches also receive a Ministerial Grant from the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
