The Fletcher Fitness Center officially opened its doors in September of last year, and since then, many faculty, staff, and students have reaped the benefits of having a state of the art work out facility on campus.
On Feb. 1, the Hardin-Simmons University School of Music Foundation will host Julia Tucker in concert. Tucker is a doctoral candidate at Arizona State University, studying organ performance. She will perform a variety of pieces at First Baptist Church of Abilene at 4 p.m. with a reception to follow in the church dining hall.
Each year, hopeful students from around the state apply for a chance to join the Joint Admission Medical Program (JAMP), which assists qualified Texas students gain admission into one of 11 Texas medical schools. Program admission is highly competitive, and three of Hardin-Simmons University’s class of 2020 made the cut. HSU seniors Jesper Jiang, Morgan McAdams, and Abhi Rashiwala will begin medical school in the fall thanks in part to the support of JAMP.
